Research Clusters

IGIER Research Clusters foster collaboration among researchers with shared interests to explore key research areas.

If you are interested in supporting one of the clusters, please email IGIER Director Thomas Le Barbanchon at thomas.lebarbanchon@unibocconi.it

Cognitive Economics

Our research will carry out a systematic integration of cognitive science and economics to develop a unified psychologically founded approach to human choice. Progress on this front is critical to enhance the predictability of individual and market outcomes as well as to devise optimal policies.

Social Media

Social media is a powerful political force. It affects what people believe, how they vote, and how they engage with democracy. Our research uses field experiments and natural experiments to quantify its effects on polarization, civic engagement, misinformation, and the dynamics of political discourse.

Work After AI

Labor markets are going through fundamental changes. New technologies based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) present both opportunities and challenges for workers and firms. Aspirations of workers evolve as new work-life balances strike. What to expect for the future of work? AI technologies embody formidable opportunities to perform complex tasks more efficiently. Our research studies how AI technologies spread across workplaces and how they affect workers’ tasks.
